Life on a Sustainable Planet Fellowships
Deadline: October 15, 2024. Life on a Sustainable Planet envisions a future in which humanity lives in balance with the natural world. Through collaboration with global partners, we advance our collective understanding of how nature and human communities interact to pursue nature-based solutions for a more resilient Earth for all. As a part of this initiative, the Smithsonian offers three in-residence fellowship programs: the Smithsonian Climate Change Postdoctoral Fellowship, the Smithsonian Environmental Justice Fellowship, and the Resilience and Sustainability Science Postdoctoral Fellowship.Postdoctoral and Graduate Fellowship Program
Scientists at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland conduct environmental research in temperate, tropical, and polar ecosystems across the globe. Recent research has highlighted the separate and interactive impacts of multiple global change factors on populations, communities, and ecosystems, including climate change, biological invasions, biodiversity loss, nutrient loading, trace element pollution, and habitat alteration.
